There are many intrinsic aging and external factors involved in the formation of wrinkles such as natural aging of the skin, photo-aging, and repeated facial movements (i.e. expression lines).  All of these factors share a physiological cause which alter homeostasis and result in a rapid imbalance which is called perturbations in the homeostasis of dermal extra-cellular matrix (i.e. wrinkles).  Homeostatine aims to maintain the homeostasis in the extra-cellular matrix by balancing between synthesis and degeneration of extra-cellular matrix components (EMC).  These are the components that help to keep the skin moisturized, firm, full of elasticity, and the look of skin wrinkles at bay.

At Home Recipe for a Whiter Smile!

In our efforts to look youthful, we use cream after cream to delay the onset of aging. One thing that is often overlooked in our anti-aging skin care routine is our smile. Yellowing, stained teeth make you look older. A white smile shows youthfulness, confidence and brightens your complexion. Drinking coffee, soda and tea can dramatically effect the color of your teeth. There are many options for removing the

yellow and stains off of teeth. You can use at home whitening kits, whitening toothpaste, whitening gel from the Dentist, or even whiten with blue light at a clinic. Have you looked at your teeth lately? Is it time to fresh up and whiten your smile? If so, here is a super simple at-home recipe to whiten your teeth. Because a white smile is a youthful smile!

I recently came across an at-home recipe on Pinterest for whitening your teeth. I thought it was interesting since I use teeth whitening gel all the time to maintain a white smile. I changed the recipe a tiny bit, tried it and really liked it. The mixture whitened my teeth and even whitened in the areas between the teeth. My teeth looked clean, whiter and fresh. This recipe just uses household ingredients that you probably have in your pantry. I added a little peppermint essential oil for a minty effect. Here is the recipe I used:

1/4 teaspoon Hydrogen Peroxide

1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda

1/4 teaspoon Water

1 Drop Peppermint Essential Oil

Crest 3D White Toothpaste (any toothpaste will do)

Mix all the ingredients in a cup. Place onto your toothbrush and brush your teeth. Repeat twice a day until desired results are met. Then, use once a month to maintain.

Now you can have a gorgeous, youthful smile to your anti-aging skin care routine with a super simple recipe with natural ingredients.

The Biggest Mistake In Skin Care Is Not Exfoliating.

Most women do not exfoliate and if they do, they don’t exfoliate enough. This is a big mistake! Have you ever noticed that men typically start to age later than women? The reason is that they exfoliate daily. When a man shaves, the razor removes dead skin cells and promotes a more youthful complexion.

At age 30, our skin’s ability to exfoliate itself and slough off dead skin cells greatly begins to decrease. This can lead to an excessive amount of dead skin cells. When skin develops excessive build up pores can clog and look larger, our skin begins to look dull and build up can even lead to premature wrinkles.

To tell if you have build up from dead skin cells, take a piece of scotch tape and place it on your clean forehead.  Remove the tape and if you have any discoloration, that is dead skin cells.

Exfoliating helps removes the excessive buildup. This will brighten your complexion and clean out your pores so that they appear smaller. Exfoliation also increases blood flow which helps your skin look more youthful.

For at home exfoliating, choose a microderm treatment with beads. The beads are applied and massaged in a circular motion which will help slough off dead skin cells. Use your at home at least once a week, preferable every other day.

Using an at home microderm treatment consistently to remove dead skin cells will reduce the look of large pores and help reveal a more youthful complexion.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulates the Cosmetic Industry.

The Safe Cosmetics and Personal Care Products Act of 2013 legislation is simply a new premise added onto an old Bill revisiting my industry once again.

As a cosmetic company that is registered with Skin Deep and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics we believe cosmetics should be safe. But unnecessary regulations and costs put extra costs on companies. In the end the consumer ends up paying for excessive paperwork. We strive to keep our costs affordable, but in the event that regulations like this pass, we would have to raise prices to keep up with the rising costs of cosmetic regulations.
